RBC Race for the Kids
In support of Youth Mental Health at CHEO. See details for Virtual Race Oct 17-18....As some of you may know RBC and the Year End Hockey Tournament partnered this year to support RBC Race for the Kids for youth mental health at CHEO.
RBC Race for the Kids is taking place virtually this year on October 17 & 18, and registrants can run or walk in their own neighborhood for CHEO.
The need for youth mental services has increased over the last 8 months. The need is greater than ever.
Did you know:
- Visits to CHEO's Emergency Department for mental health issues have increased 90% since 2010.
- Isolation, uncertainty from COVID-19, and fears about a child's battle with anxiety have put CHEO's pediatric mental health crisis into overdrive.
- Outpatient visits to CHEO for mental health care are increasing. In the first three months of 2020, over 7,000 outpatient encounters were logged - an unprecedented number of visits.
