Dear OCMHA Parent,

Welcome to OCMHA and to hockey!  in order for your child to be eligible to play on a team, as a parent, you need to complete the Respect in Sport course - http://hockeyeasternontario.ca/pages/parents/respectinsport.htm

This is a one-time thing and one parent only needs to take it once for all of your children that play hockey for the rest of the years that they play. However, if you have an older sibling playing hockey and have already taken this course, you must add your child that is new to hockey to your account by following these instructions -

Financial Assistance:

Hockey is an expensive sport, and might be out of reach for some families without assistance.  If finances are an issue, please approach the President (president@ocmha.ca), Vice President (vp@ocmha.ca), or Treasurer (financial@ocmha.ca) about programs that may be available to you. All inquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.

The Bytown Help Fund was started by seed funding obtained from the IIHF World Junior Championship Legacy Fund. The District received “matching grants”, i.e. grants which the Help Fund agreed to match through other fundraising efforts. The Bytown Help Funds is administered by Kidsport Ottawa < application and info >.

There are other sources of third-party funding available to families to help with the cost of hockey.  Here a links to a few:
