Important information from Ottawa Public Health

Dear OCMHA parents and guardians,
We are writing to pass on some important recent information that has been provided to sports associations by Ottawa Public Health.OPH has advised that current indicators put the city right on the verge of entering the red zone, meaning that team sports would no longer be permitted. To hopefully avoid that unfortunate result, we are asking that you strictly follow the COVID rules that we have in place, including masking and distancing guidance, as well as the following key rules:
- Please conduct a proper health screening before every ice time and submit the electronic form.
- Please make sure that your player stays home if they have any symptom on the list provided.
- Please do not carpool to hockey. This is a high-risk activity that puts our program in jeopardy.
- Please do not have your player play other sports outside of hockey. If you wish to register your player in other sports, we ask that you not attend hockey for the rest of the year.
We truly appreciate all of your efforts to date and look forward to the day when we can relax these rules. Unfortunately that day has not yet arrived, so we ask you to stay the course through the home stretch of the hockey year so we can hopefully all stay on the ice.
