Quick update on 2021 Training/Season
Bytown Blues Rugby - Ottawa's Central Rugby ClubHope all of you are staying safe and sound, just a quick update for the 2021 season.
We started our training the week of June 21st. We are now into Stage 2 (Ontario RTP) or Rugby Ontario Modified Phase 3. Which basically means we return to unlimited numbers in training (outdoors), non-contact training. We are allowed to run non-contact sessions with flag games, or touch allowed.
Our sessions are:
Tues & Thurs: ($165 + online fees)
U14 Boys: 6:00 - 7:30 PM @Canterbury HS (EAST Field)
U16-18 Boys: 6:30 - 8:00 PM @Canterbury HS (EAST Field)
U14-18 Girls: 6:15 - 7:45 PM @Canterbury HS (WEST Field)
U19 - Sr Men: 6:45 - 8:15 PM @Canterbury HS (WEST Field)
Wed: ($130 + online fees)
U8-10 Boys & Girls: 6:30 - 7:30 PM @Canterbury HS (EAST Field)
U12 Boys & Girls: 6:30 - 8:00 PM @Canterbury HS (EAST Field)
Please note we have moved sessions up to 1.5 hours from the covid restricted 1 hour, it will be up to the coaches/players to decide if they go the full time.
We currently run until Aug 18th week, but will continue, if numbers are good, into the fall. We are waiting to see if we can play contact rugby in the fall, if so there will be an upgrade to contact (Rugby Ontario and Canada insurance cost increase).
You can still register for the summer training here.
Winter contact training:
We will be looking to run contact winter training in 2021/22, probably at Ottawa University Lees Campus Dome, to get everyone back into form for contact rugby for 2022 (High school and club). More details as we get closer to August/Sept and the covid cloud starts to lift.
