Volunteering at the Roger Neilson House Year End Tournament
2018-03-26Final preparations for the 51st Ottawa Year End Tournament (OYET) in support of Roger Neilson House are now underway. Dates are April 6 to April 8, 2018.
Hi Everyone!
As you know, the Roger Neilson House Ottawa Year End Tournament (OYET) is fast approaching (5pm Friday April 6th thru Sunday April 8).
Ottawa Centre Hockey continues our long-standing commitment to support Roger Neilson House and we are pleased that ALL of our teams are once again participating.
Volunteers are needed for hosting duties (3-4 hour shifts) at Fred Barrett Arena, and to be timekeepers and scorekeepers over the tournament weekend. All OCMHA teams are asked to provide 1-2 volunteers. Recognizing that everyone is busy, even an hour of time would help. Grab a friend and come and help. High school students can earn hours towards their volunteer requirement.
The draws are posted on www.hockeytournament.ca - please check out your team's possible progression.
Both adult and teen volunteers (yes, teens, we will sign off on your volunteer hours!) are needed for the positions of timekeeper, scorekeeper and registration desk.

It's as easy as that. For those of you not familiar with Google Sheets, you don't need to save it after you enter in your information. It will constantly auto-save. And, you don't have to send it to me when you're done. As its cloud-based access so all of us can be working in the doc at the same time and multiple people can be signing up at once.

We are fortunate to have Roger Neilson House in our community, providing support to countless families who are caring for sick children. This is an incredibly good cause and volunteer support helps to maximize our donation each year. Not only does this tournament traditionally mark the end of the hockey season, but it also recognizes the amazing work of Roger Neilson House and the Sens Foundation in our community.
Over the past 13 years $312,966 has been raised by this tournament!
